Twilight the Movie
Stephanie Meyer's 2005 hit book, Twilight, finally hits the big screen. Devoted fans to the Twilight series line up to see the movie, but did the movie live up to the books' name? In my opinion, no it did not.
The movie had the basic plot line as the book. Bella moves to new town. Bella meets Edward. Bella finds out Edward is a vampire. Bella and Edward fall in love. Bella avoids a pack of human-hungry vampires. The end?
The book has so much more detail. Sure, if the movie was to have every last detail that was in the book that would probably be about a 4 hour movie, but how much detail did they leave out that was vital to the Twilight plot?
All I've seen that the movie has done is put a face on Edward Cullen-the pale-skinned, sparkling, vampire. But now I have to wonder, how many of the Twilight auidence are girls, and are they judging this movie based on plot or the "hotness" of Edward Cullen? And how many guys will line up to see this movie? To guys, isn't a vampire movie supposed to be horror, blood, and guts? What's with all this mushy stuff?
Overall, the movie wasn't bad. To the Twilight book lovers, a disappointment no doubt. With plans for the making of New Moon, the sequel to the beloved Twilight is already in store. Hopefully, with the series the movies with improve. But will it ever live up to these best sellers' name?
